High-Performance Pleated Polypropylene Filter Element – Model EZ-PSFG-343-PP

Designed as a high-surface-area pleated cartridge for low-pressure hydraulic loops and auxiliary filtration circuits, the EZ-PSFG-343-PP uses 100 % polypropylene melt-blown media in a gradient-density, binder-free construction. While PP media is most often specified for water-glycol (HFC) and environmentally acceptable hydraulic fluids (HEES/HETG) where glass fiber is not compatible, this element also serves as a tank-breather guard, offline kidney-loop cartridge, or return-line prefilter in large reservoir systems. The 43" (1092 mm) length and 4.5" (114 mm) OD deliver roughly 3–5× the surface area of a comparable straight-wrap element, keeping ΔP low through long service intervals.

Where It Fits in a Hydraulic System

• Tank-mounted breather / guard on large reservoirs where airborne dust and filler contamination need blocking at the return path

⚠️ PP media is not intended for mineral-oil HV/HM service above 70–80 °C long-term – standard glass-fiber elements are preferred there. For mineral-oil duty at this form factor, a polyester or glass-media version of the same PSFG-343 body is the correct substitution.

Installation & Service

1. Verify vessel is depressurized and drained below the element seat before opening.

   
   

2. Lift old element out by the top handle; inspect the lip-seal groove and cage for debris.

   
   

3. Seat new element – the EZ-Align tabs click into the vessel head, preventing rotation or sag.

   
   

4. Re-pressure slowly; check for bypass leakage around the seal (ΔP gauge recommended on vessel inlet/outlet).

   
   

5. Log hours or gallons processed; replace at 12–15 psi (0.8–1.0 bar) ΔP or per fluid-condition report.

   
   

Quality Notes

Media lot-tested for bubble point and gravimetric efficiency; each element pressure-checked on the cage before packing. PP pleat pack is thermally bonded – no urethane or adhesive that could soften in HFC service.

Part number: EZ-PSFG-343-PP – specify micron rating (0.5 / 1 / 5 / 10 / 20 / 50 μm absolute), seal material (FKM std., EPDM/NBR on request), and quantity per bank. Alternative media (polyester for 116 °C, glass for highest efficiency) available under EZ-PSFG-343-PE / EZ-PSFG-343-GL if duty moves out of the PP envelope.
