2901056612 – Transmission hydraulic return or pump-guard on large commercial vehicles (12+ t class trucks, coach buses) and construction equipment with 2901-series filter heads. The 10–15 µm grade protects clutch-pack and valve-body circuits from pump-wear debris and tank-born contamination. Also deployable as a steering-return guard on the same chassis where the housing accepts the 95 mm OD cartridge.

2901164101 – Finer secondary / pilot stage in the same 2901-series housing family, or standalone pilot-loop filter on construction equipment with sensitive proportional valves. The 5–10 µm (β₅ ≥ 200) rating is tuned for servo spools where 10–15 µm chips cause stick-slip. Often paired upstream/downstream with a coarser 2901056612 in dual-cartridge heads, or used alone on lighter pilot-only circuits.

⚠️ Both are cartridges, not spin-ons — they seat into a reusable head/bowl. Confirm housing type (single vs. dual cartridge), bypass location (housing vs. element), and flow direction arrow before install. Do not substitute 2901164101 into a main-return first position without a coarser pre-filter ahead — it will blind rapidly in bulk-duty.
