Application Guidance

Both elements serve as primary (outer) stage intake filters on construction and agricultural machinery — excavators, wheel loaders, telehandlers, tractors, and generator-set engines. The deep-pleat geometry is specifically engineered to maximize dust-holding capacity in high air-flow intake systems where continuous operation in dusty environments is expected.

69008859 — Specified for standard-duty intake volumes on mid-size machinery (engines in the 150–250 kW class). The media pack balances high filtration efficiency with low restriction for optimal engine performance.

69008903 — Tuned for higher air-flow engines (250–400 kW class), with extended dirt-holding capacity for longer service intervals in severe dust conditions.

⚠️ Both elements are primary (outer) stage filters. They work in tandem with a safety inner element. Never operate without the safety element in place — a torn primary during service would otherwise allow unfiltered air straight into the engine.

Installation & Service

5. Seat the new primary element — align end-cap markings with housing keys; ensure the radial seal or facial gasket seats correctly.

   
   

6. Close the housing, torque clamps/bolts evenly. Do not over-torque band clamps — they crush the PU end cap.

   
   

7. Restart and check for air leaks (soap-test intake joints if pressure differential gauge reads abnormal).

   
   

8. Replace per OEM interval (typically 500–1000 h in moderate dust; 250 h in severe dust) or when the restriction indicator reaches redline.

   
   

📌 Do not blow out the element with compressed air to "extend" its life — this drives dust deeper into the media and past the fibers, accelerating engine wear. Once the restriction indicator trips, replace.
