1) HP311-12— Pressure-Line Filter Element (GE Unit)

This is a pressure-side filter element mounted in a heavy cast-steel head between the pump and the valves. Because it operates under high pressure, extreme care must be taken during service.

Safety First

Always close the upstream isolation valve if one is fitted. Slowly crack the head vent or bleed screw and wait until the pressure gauge reads zero and all hissing stops. Never assume it is safe just because the pump is off. Support the bowl while working so the heavy hardware does not hang by the piping.

How to confirm it is correct

Check the metal nameplate on the filter head near the pipe ports. It will show the model HP311, a pressure rating (often up to 310–350 bar class), port size, and a flow arrow. The O-ring on this element is normally black or dark grey (NBR nitrile) for standard mineral oil; if the old seal is brown or reddish (Viton), stop and confirm the fluid temperature specification before using a different seal type.

Replacement steps

1. Once pressure is confirmed at zero, loosen the retainer and lift the element straight out — do not pry against the pleats.

   
   

2. Check the bottom of the bowl for bright metal shavings, which is an early warning of pump or valve wear.

   
   

3. Wipe the sealing faces clean and apply a thin film of clean hydraulic oil to the O-ring (no grease, no sealant).

   
   

4. Seat the new element perfectly square on the centre support tube so it cannot shift or bypass.

   
   

5. Close the vent, bring system pressure back slowly, and watch closely for leaks before walking away.

2) RFO 03010— Internal Stock / Material Number

The identifier RFO 03010(or simply 03010) is an internal plant stock number, not a public filter code you can trust by its digits alone. It could be an element for a completely different housing, or it could be a seal/repair kit (O-rings, gaskets, drain plug seals).

How to qualify it (one minute)

Look at the bag label or bin tag:

• Does it explicitly say "element / cartridge", or does it say "seal kit / O-ring kit"?

  
  

• If it is an element, carry it to the filter it belongs to and match it to the housing nameplate model (ports + pressure + flow arrow) and the old element dimensions (height, OD, centre hole).

  
  

• If it is a kit, use it only for the equipment or housing the BOM states — do not try to press it into service as a filter element.

  
  

Procurement wording (safe)

RFO 03010 — Internal stock/material number — issue only against the equipment tag / housing model written in the BOM. If a supplier tries to ship an element, require housing model + OD + length + seal compound first. If it is a seal/repair kit, issue only that specified kit.
