What it is (plain English)

A disposable pleated element mounted in a pipe-mounted canister (clamp-band bowl, flow arrow on the head).

The “10A” style points to an approximately 10 µm class glass-fiber/synthetic media — finer than the coarse chips-guard level — used where the circuit cares about oil cleanliness (bearings, tight-clearance pumps).

What to check before fitting

• Head nameplate near the ports: must show the model the element belongs to (the “4618” family marking) + pressure bar + flow arrow.

  
  

• Ruler-check: new element H / OD / centre-hole matches the old one.

  
  

• O-ring colour: should be black/dark grey (NBR) for standard mineral oil; if brown/red, stop and confirm fluid spec.
