1) HS611-200-GWB— Coalescer / Liquid-Separation Element

(not a plain particle filter — it separates droplets from the stream)

What it does

This element lives in a coalescing / separator vessel (fuel polishing, lube-oil de-watering, or gas-stream mist removal).

Its media is specially treated so small water / oil droplets join into larger drops, then gravity carries them to the drain — the goal is clean fluid + removed free water, not just “10 µm particles.”

What to check before fitting

• Housing nameplate must show the coalescer/separator model (HS611 family) + max pressure + temperature range.

  
  

• Make sure the housing has been drained before opening (expect watery sludge at the bottom — normal for this duty).

  
  

• Seal colour: GWB-type fittings usually run NBR (black/grey) unless the nameplate calls out FKM — never swap compounds blindly.

  
  

Replacement steps

1. Isolate the vessel → slowly open the top vent until pressure = 0.

   
   

2. Open the bottom drain valve into a suitable container — let accumulated water/oil drain completely.

   
   

3. Open the closure → withdraw the cartridge straight, protecting the outer surface (scratched media performs worse).

   
   

4. Inspect the housing bottom for sludge layers (tells you if upstream drying/stages are overloaded).

   
   

5. Thin film of compatible fluid on the O-ring → seat cartridge square and centred (off-centre lets droplets bypass the separator screen).

   
   

6. Close drain → close vent only after repressurising slowly and watching that no droplets carry over into the clean outlet.

2) HS833-200-C1— Hydraulic / Lube Oil Filter Element

What it is

A disposable pleated element for a pipe-mounted canister on a hydraulic power unit or lube-oil loop.

• 833 = size/flow class (fixes OD, height, centre-tube)

  
  

• C1 = NBR seal (black/grey, mineral oil), standard option

  
  

What to check before fitting

• Housing head nameplate: model containing HS833…, pressure bar, port size, FLOW ARROW.

  
  

• Ruler-check: new element H / OD / centre-hole matches the old one.

  
  

• O-ring colour = black/dark grey (NBR). Brown/red = wrong seal for “C1”.

  
  

Replacement steps

1. Stop pump → vent/bleed until pressure = 0.

   
   

2. Support bowl → clamp off → pull element straight out.

   
   

3. Check for bright metal shavings (wear warning).

   
   

4. Thin film clean hydraulic oil on O-ring → seat square → close vent → ΔP green, no seep.
