High-Performance Hydraulic Oil Filters – Models A-6018M & A-6014

Two spin-on hydraulic filter cartridges engineered for return-line and low-pressure auxiliary circuits on mid-size mobile equipment and industrial power units. A-6018M is the larger canister (90 mm OD × 205 mm length, 1-12 UNF thread) with a machined brass-reinforced center tube for high-vibration environments, while A-6014 is the compact sibling (70 mm OD × 178 mm length, 3/4-16 UNF thread) for tight bay layouts on skid steers and mini excavators. Both use glass-fiber composite media qualified to ISO 16889 multi-pass testing, with bypass protection and anti-drain-back features.

Application Guidance

A-6018M – Return-line or pump-discharge guard on wheel loaders, excavators (20–30 t class), and industrial compressors where vibration from the hydraulic circuit or engine can fatigue standard steel center tubes. The brass-reinforced tube (M grade) provides superior fatigue resistance under pulsed flow, making it the preferred choice for high-cycle applications such as scrap shears, crushers, and vibratory rollers.

A-6014 – Compact spin-on for mini excavators, skid steer loaders, and agricultural tractors where space is constrained. The 70 mm OD fits tight engine bays and compact filter heads. Suitable for steering-return, pilot-loop, or compressor-lube circuits on smaller equipment.

⚠️ Thread difference: A-6018M uses 1-12 UNF (larger head), A-6014 uses 3/4-16 UNF (smaller head) — they are not head-interchangeable. The M suffix on 6018M indicates the brass-reinforced center tube, not a metric dimension.

Installation & Service

1. Clean filter head face; inspect threads and center tube.

   
   

2. Lubricate gasket with clean hydraulic oil, spin on by hand until seated + ¾ turn. No strap wrench on the canister.

   
   

3. For pressure-line duty, pre-fill if head design allows.

   
   

4. Replace per OEM interval or when differential pressure reaches bypass setting (2.5 bar for 6018M, 2.0 bar for 6014).

   
   

5. In high-vibration applications, inspect the center tube at each change – brass-reinforced (6018M) typically outlasts standard steel 2–3×.
