Spin-On Lube & Hydraulic-Aux Filter – Model 15400-PR3-004

Originally specified as a full-flow lube-oil spin-on for Honda/Acura passenger-car and light-commercial platforms (Civic, Integra, Accord, CR-V, Legend among others), this M20×1.5 canister also crosses to Hyundai Accent, Elantra, Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Eclipse/Galant, Subaru Impreza/Legacy, and related engine families. A glass-fiber 10–15 µm variant is additionally offered for hydraulic-auxiliary and compressor-lube duty on the same chassis — making it a dual-purpose service item across engine and ancillary circuits.

Application Guidance

Lube duty – Primary full-flow filtration on B-series, D-series, K-series, and related Honda/Acura engines (Civic 6th–9th gen, Integra, Accord 4th–7th, CR-V 2.0/2.4, Legend). Also cross-referenced to Hyundai/Kia (Accent, Elantra, Santa Fe, Tucson, Sedona, Sorento), Mitsubishi (Eclipse, Galant, Montero), Subaru (Impreza, Legacy, Forester, Outback) under shared OE number patterns (LF3462, H13W01, W814/80 equivalents).

Hyd-aux duty (glass-fiber variant) – Power-steering return guard, compressor-lube loop, or PTO-lube on the same chassis where a compact M20 spin-on is preferred over a larger canister. The 10–15 µm grade protects servo valves in steering racks and variable-displacement compressor bearings.

Installation & Service

1. Clean filter head / engine block mounting face; inspect the engine's center tube (if present) and threads.

   
   

2. Lubricate the new gasket with clean oil, spin on by hand until gasket contacts, then tighten ¾ turn — do not over-torque; no strap wrench on the canister.

   
   

3. For lube duty: pre-fill the canister if the head design allows, start the engine, and check for leaks at operating pressure.

   
   

4. For hyd-aux duty: bleed the loop per chassis procedure; replace when ΔP reaches bypass (~2.5 bar) or per service interval.

   
   

5. Typical lube interval: 5,000–8,000 km / 5,000–10,000 hours depending on engine spec — follow OEM schedule.
