Two complementary filter elements drawn from the same heavy-duty platform family: MB220900 is a spin-on canister originally specified for diesel-fuel circuits but widely crossed into hydraulic auxiliary and compressor-service duty, while MD603446 is a vertical finned air-filter cartridge protecting the same engine/compressor packages' intake side. Application Guidance

MB220900 – Primary diesel-fuel filter on 2.5 L CRDi light commercials and L200/L300-family vans; also crossed to mini-excavator fuel loops (e.g. S4S/S4F engine platforms) and, in its glass-fiber 10–15 µm version, deployed as a hydraulic auxiliary / return-guard on compact loader and forklift circuits where a spin-on canister simplifies field service. Interchanges with common WK940/11, KC46, H17WK09 patterns.

MD603446 – Vertical air-intake cartridge for S4S, 4D55, 6DR5, S4E2, 4DQ50C engine families used on forklifts (FD20–FD35), mini-excavators (MS040/MS070), and light trucks. The finned profile maximises media area in a narrow bay; steel-reinforced end caps take vibration from compressor-adjacent mounts. Also cross-referenced to AF25438, P50-0014 patterns.

📎 Note: MB220900 in glass-fiber 10–15 µm trim is the version positioned for hydraulic-aux duty; the standard fuel-spec (cellulose, 3 µm 99.9 %) should stay on fuel circuits. MD603446 is an air-intake element — for reservoir breather duty a desiccant-breather variant of the same OD/height would be the correct substitution.

Installation & Service

• MB220900: Clean head face, lube gasket, spin on by hand + ¾ turn. Do not strap-wrench the canister. For hydraulic-aux duty, pre-fill if the loop allows. Replace per OEM hour/km or when ΔP signals clogging.

  
  

• MD603446: Unclip the air-housing, lift old cartridge, wipe the housing interior, seat the new element on the center stud, torque nut to spec (typical 1.5–2 N·m, don't over-tighten the PU end). Check the housing lid seal each service.
