Hydraulic Oil Filter Element – Product Detail

These filter elements (T64102003 / T64101001) are designed for lube oil, seal oil, and servo oil circuits in rotating machinery such as steam turbines, centrifugal compressors, and gas turbine auxiliary systems. They remove particulate contaminants and degradation by-products from mineral or synthetic oils, protecting bearings, seals, gears, and control valves.

Construction

Each element uses a pleated glass-microfiber media (resin-impregnated, β₁₀ ≥ 200) supported by a perforated steel center tube and an outer galvanised-steel retainer cage. End caps are epoxy-bonded steel. The seal groove accepts either nitrile (NBR) or fluorocarbon (FKM) O‑rings depending on the variant. A bypass valve (typically 1.0–1.5 bar) is integrated in the mating head, not the element. Collapse pressure rating is 10 bar for low-pressure return circuits and 21 bar for pressure/seal circuits (wire‑back option available).

Technical Comparison

The two elements share the same media grade and overall dimensions but differ in seal polymer and collapse rating. T64101001 (NBR, 10 bar) is intended for low‑pressure return or scavenge lines; T64102003 (FKM, 21 bar) is for higher‑pressure seal oil or servo circuits where synthetic oil or elevated temperature may be present.

Selection Guidance

Select T64101001 (NBR, 10 bar) for standard mineral turbine oil (ISO VG 32/46) on low‑pressure return lines where operating temperature remains below 80 °C. Select T64102003 (FKM, 21 bar) for synthetic or phosphate‑ester fluids (e.g., fire‑resistant seal oils), high‑temperature circuits (≤ 100 °C), or any pressure leg exceeding 10 bar working pressure. Do not install a 10‑bar element in a 21‑bar circuit – collapse failure may occur.

Maintenance

Replace element when differential pressure reaches 1.5–2.0 bar or per OEM schedule (typically 2 000–4 000 operating hours for lube return, 500–1 000 hours for seal/servo circuits). Always replace the O‑ring with the same polymer as the element. During element change, inspect the bypass valve seat in the head and the test port for debris. Store in a cool, dry environment away from UV and ozone.
